Climbing Area
Safety First:
Watch your surroundings and fall zones at all times
Empty your pockets before climbing
If you can high five another climber, you're too close. The first climber on the wall stays; the other climbs down
Stay out of fall zones and don't walk under climbers
Downclimb when possible
Only climb as high as you feel comfortable falling
No topping out or standing on the wall
No running
Climbers on the wall have right of way; climbers going up have right of way over those traversing
No street shoes on the wall
No loose chalk
Food and drink stay off the mats
Etiquette:
No Beta Spray: Don't offer unsolicited advice unless safety is involved
Brush = Next: If someone brushes holds, they climb next
Take turns on popular problems, especially during busy times and new sets
Brush your tick marks before moving to a new problem
Respect the psych: Let people celebrate their sends
Respect other climbers: Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Fitness Area
Keep equipment in the weightlifting area
Closed-toed shoes required
Wipe down equipment after use
Don't slam, throw, or drop weights
Use safety features (clips, bars, etc.)
Keep areas clear of obstacles
Only use equipment you know how to operate safely—ask staff if unsure
Don't modify equipment or use it in unsafe ways
Report broken or malfunctioning equipment to staff
Community Standards
Respect & Kindness:
Be respectful in language and interactions with everyone, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, ability, sex, gender, sexual orientation, or any other status
No harassment, bullying, yelling, screaming, running, roughhousing, or tantrums
Impact matters, even when intent was good. Be aware of how your actions affect others
Personal Space & Boundaries:
Ask consent before taking photos or videos
Don't make comments about people's bodies or offer unsolicited advice
Respect verbal and non-verbal cues about comfort levels
If someone declines interaction, respect it without insistence
Don't monopolize wall space, equipment, or common areas
Keep personal items organized in your own space
When Issues Arise:
Address problems politely with the person involved first
If that doesn't work, ask staff to help mediate
Report harassment or bullying to staff immediately
